THE HYDROGEN SOCIETY WILL BEGIN IN MARCH 2016/LEARN 20 IDIOMS WITH “WATER”
Honda has announced its hydrogen-powered cars will go on sale in Japan as early as March 2016. It will launch in Europe and the US to follow. The FCV Clarity (Fuel Cell Vehicle) as the five-seatede sedan can travel 700 km on a single charge. The FCV concept was a bright blue sedan shaped like “a drop of water “ to emphasize that water is the only substance that hydrogen-powered cars emit from their tailpipes.
It’s been priced at US$62,807, which can meet the affordable expense of an average consumer. Honda expects to sell far more than its previous generation model, the FCX Clarity. This car is expected to trigger the “hydrogen society”, in which a vehicle completely eliminates the need for toxic emissions. Automobile exhaust has been a significant problem causing outdoor air pollution that is killing more than 3 million people every year.
A Honda hydrogen-powered car is nothing new. Back in 2008, the FCX Clarity was leased to a handful of private buyers in California as part of a subsidised trial deal. In terms of competition hurdle the car cost 10 times more than it does now and was 30 percent less powerful. Until now fuel cells have been so large that they needed to be packaged elsewhere in the vehicle. The FCV Clarity, on the other hand, features a fuel cell stack that’s 33 percent smaller, now taking up the same amount of room under the hood as a typical V-6 engine.
The fuel cell stack converts hydrogen into electricity, which powers an electric motor via a lithium-ion battery pack. Another is at least one hydrogen station is about to appear in your local area to make buying one of these environmentally friendly vehicles practical. Honda is now developing a personal-use Smart Hydrogen Station, which is designed to be installed at home. FCX Clarity customers have recently had access to the first hydrogen refueling stations in South California. They will have more seven in the near future.
Today, fuel cells are equal to gasoline engine cars compared to 10 years ago. On October 21st 2015 Toyota started sale and delivered the Toyota Mirai in California, and on the same day the film Back to the Future Part II as predicted with the 30- year future of mankind was launched as the hallmark for the event. Toyota has shared its thousands of patents with other manufacturers and has delivered the first of its new Mirai fuel cell cars to owners in Japan, the USA, Denmark, Germany and the UK.
