ELECTRIC WARFARE

One drone appeared to change the war in Ukraine for later more lethal weapons. Fibre optic drones (FODs) was developed by Ukrainian engineers applying the  glass fibre technology pioneered in the 1950s by physicist Dr. Narinder Singh Kapany called the “Father of Fiber Optics”. Its principle is light could be guided and bent through glass fibers without significant signal loss. Not only streaming real-time video from the camera on the drone to goggles, this type of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) but is also equipped with an explosive payload and carries a lightweight spool containing 10 to 30 kilometers of glass fibre cable unwinding as they fly. Constructed from lightweight, non-metallic materials like fibreglass, they emit virtually no thermal or radar signals. Light pulses via the glass wire can transmit control signals and high-resolution video, making it entirely invisible and bypassing traditional radio jamming and navigating low to the ground. Enemy electronic jamming is completely ineffective. These low-flying stealth weapons are exceptionally lethal possibly weaving through forests, or even flying directly into buildings, vehicles, bunkers, or static electronic warfare (EW) station and detonating. Once a one-way strike mission is complete, the remaining cable stretches across the battlefield, posing long-term hazards to wildlife. Soldiers report almost no warning before an impact. Not being electronically blocked, they are often used as a first strike to destroy enemy jamming antennas, clearing the way for subsequent waves of drones. Otherwise, the biggest vulnerability in an attack is the wire itself.  This cable is prone to snagging on trees, rubble, or debris; getting caught in military machinery. The lightweight fibreglass bodies make them highly vulnerable to poor weather, such as heavy rain and strong winds. Soldiers use shotguns, mobile anti-drone radars, or physical net-guns to knock them out of the sky.until now, there has been directed energy systems (DEW) that can disable drones by destroying their electronics or causing structural failure. Battlefield environments with fog, snow, rain, and thick smoke like Ukraine have caused the laser beams to scatter or lose focus entirely. But, despite these hurdles, both sides have actively been researching and pushing prototypes to counter the massive volume of low-cost drones on the front lines. DEW systems remain a massive financial burden for combatants but a really high profit for warmongers.

RARE WORDS CHALLENGE

  1. Apostrophize means to suddenly interrupt a speech or piece of writing to address a third party; to show possession or letters or numbers omitted or contracte. You apostrophize “do not” to make “don’t”.
  2. Bruit (pronounced broo-ee) is an abnormal, blowing or swooshing sound heard through a stethoscope, caused by turbulent or choppy blood flow in an artery, usually due to a narrowing, partial blockage, or localized high-rate of blood flow. Heard in the stomach area, bruits can signal a partial obstruction or aneurysm of the aorta or renal arteries.
  3. Causerie, borrowed from French, derived from the verb causer, meaning “to chat”,  refers to a light, informal conversation or a short, casual essay not mundane gossip written in a conversational style. Humor, witty anecdotes, and casual language makes causeries a direct, friendly approach to the readers.
  4. Fustigate means to criticize harshly or severely or beat or cudgel someone with or as if with a heavy stick, possibly used as the metaphorical in political or editorial issues.
  5. Monition is an official or formal warning, caution, or admonishment. Commanding someone to appear in court is a type of monition.
  6. Paronomasia is a pun or wordplay of alike or similar words having different meanings to create a humorous, ambiguous, or thought-provoking effect. Provoking thought or highlighting a product feature thorough paronomasia has utilized so many catchy slogans and puns
  7. Preconize means o publicly praise or recommend a specific idea, course of action, or person. To read clinical definitions and post-procedure information at a hospital or specialized women’s health clinic is to know what to preconize means.
  8. Pindaric refers to an elaborate, highly structured lyric poem historically known for its complex metrical patterns, lofty themes praising victories or heroic events. Pindaric odes were mostly used by English poets.
  9. Rabelaisian is used to describe humor or literature marked by exuberant, often bawdy and coarse language, combined with sharp, satirical wit. Robust humor, a hearty zest for life, and larger-than-life satire shows the “Rabelaisian” spirit.
  10. Hermeneutic is the theory, methodology, and study of interpretation primarily focused on how we derive, understand, and communicate meaning from text, symbolic expressions, speech, and historical actions. Hermeneutical principles can be used in courts to interpret the exact meanings of written statutes, contracts, and constitutional texts.
